Compensation: $45,000 annually

    The Council Bluffs Schools Foundation is a nonprofit 501c3 organization, governed by a board of directors, which provides financial resources and support to benefit the children, families, and staff of the Council Bluffs Community School District.

    In pursuit of our mission, the foundation provides financial support for various school programs, and operates three signature programs:
    • Kids & Company is a before and after school childcare program operating out of 10 elementary buildings in the Council Bluffs Community School District that provides supervision and engaging activities to more than 400 children daily.
    • STARS Scholarship provides support for adult, low-income parents in Pottawattamie County as they pursue a postsecondary degree or career training certification.
    • Alumni & Friends aims to create a network of individuals who wish to support the school district, connect with old friends, and stay informed. About the Position

      The Administrative and HR Assistant is responsible for providing support to internal and external stakeholders including employees and business associates. A service-oriented taskmaster, committed to confidentiality and attention to detail, the Administrative and HR Assistant performs a variety of support functions, including human resources and benefits administration, finance, and office management support. The Administrative and HR Assistant also works closely with the Executive Director to provide direct administrative support, and complete special projects related to Foundation programs.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      Education: Associate degree required; Bachelor s degree preferred.

      Experience:
      • Experience providing customer service to internal and external stakeholders required.
      • Experience managing projects and daily tasks which require significant organization and attention to detail required.
      • Human resources experience, including payroll processing, benefits enrollment, and file management preferred.
      • Bookkeeping experience, including accounts receivable and accounts payable preferred. REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
        • Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and customer service.
        • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects.
        • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. JOB RESPONSIBILITITES:

        • Perform human resources tasks and provide foundation staff with front-line human resources assistance, including payroll processing, maintenance of PTO accrual and usage records, new hire paperwork, coordinating new hire orientation and onboarding, processing benefits claims and renewals, and human resources policy maintenance.
        • Perform office management tasks, including monitoring and requisition of office supplies, coordinating building and office maintenance needs, managing office equipment leases, and coordinating IT equipment maintenance and service needs.
        • Provide administrative support for monthly board meetings by preparing board meeting packets, ordering lunches, arranging board meeting room, and taking meetings notes.
        • Provide administrative support to the Executive Director with daily activities, and manage projects as assigned.
        • Perform financial duties in QuickBooks, accounts receivable and payable, banking duties to include deposits and payroll transfers and reports.
        • Assist with the annual audit and budget as needed.
        • Complete quarterly and annual tax submissions as required.
        • Performs all other duties as assigned

          HOURS: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday

          DEMANDS: Requires prolonged sitting.

          CONDITIONS: Work is routinely performed in an office environment.
