Exempt DEPARTMENT: Catholic Schools Office HRS/WEEK : 40 Hrs
REPORTS TO: Bishop DATE : February 2026 PRIMARY PURPOSE: Oversee
all aspects of leadership for the schools of the Diocese of Sioux
City. Ensure a learning environment that provides and fosters a
quality academic program within a Catholic environment. Responsible
for the implementation of the goals and objectives of the Bishop
and the Catholic Schools Office in each school of the Diocese.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensure compliance with all State and Federal
certification requirements for each school. Provide leadership to
each school in maintaining compliance and high academic standards.
Provide expertise to the various organizations of the educational
system; serving as a member of committees or directly providing
leadership to school management teams. Evaluate the quality of
education being provided through the analysis of reports and by
personal visits and exchange of information. Provide insight into
opportunities to expand service or improve levels of service.
Personally completes or delegates duties and responsibilities for
the efficient and effective operation of the educational system in
collaboration with the assistant superintendent and coordinator of
enrollment. Leads local Boards with the annual evaluation of their
school administrators. Advise and oversee local Boards with regard
to hiring, firing and disciplinary action for school
administrators. Serve as a liaison between the Bishop's office and
each school system. Represent the Diocese in area, state and
national education associations and meetings. Responsible for the
activities and duties of the Diocesan School Board. Serves on the
Catholic School Foundation Board and the Monsignor Lafferty Tuition
Foundation Board. Plan, budget, determine goals/objectives and
establish procedures for the Catholic Schools Office within the
Central Catholic Offices. Assist with other responsibilities and
projects as assigned by the Bishop and/or Bishop's Designee.
COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIPS : Interacts extensively with the
following positions: School Administrators Local & Diocesan school
boards Director of Human Resources Senior Staff Iowa Catholic
Conference SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the
assignment of work and delegation of responsibilities to other
employees. Authorized to interview, hire and fire employees;
establish standards and evaluate employee performance; and initiate

Director of Enrollment & Outreach 1 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: Must be a Catholic in good standing with
Educational Specialist or Ph.D. degree and emphasis in curriculum,
school improvement strategies and evaluation and assessment of
school programs. Five or more years of teaching experience with
administrator experience in education. Must have or qualify for
State of Iowa Administrator certification, including the
administrator's evaluation credentials. Must possess proven
leadership, organizational and collaborative skills with emphasis
on planning and managing a variety of functions in both individual
and team settings. Demonstrated ability to formulate and implement
processes with many interrelated components. Strong communication
skills, able to communicate with staff, parishioners, and
administrative boards and committees. PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE
REQUIREMENTS: Sedentary work - involves sitting most of the time,
walking and standing are required occasionally. Duties require
extensive travel including evening and weekend meetings. Although
work is performed primarily under inside environmental conditions,
the required travel may result in temporary exposure to outside
environmental conditions. Regular driving and valid driver's
license are required. Excellent listening and communication
abilities needed. Duties require a wide range of intellectual and
practical problem solving skills and comprehension of complex
concepts.
