Rehabilitation (VR) is looking for an Office Director who leads
with purpose. In this role, you'll provide strategic leadership for
pre-employment transition services — working alongside a
collaborative team and partnering with schools, community
organizations, and employers to help high school students with
disabilities build pathways to meaningful work. If you're an

position is assigned to our office located at 13th & Farnam St,
Omaha, NE. Pay Grade 11: $84,393.74/year This rate is based upon
available budget funds; any offer will be made at this rate.

Essential Functions Oversees and provides technical assistance,
information, and guidance related to VR and interpretation of
program guidelines, policies, and procedures. Identifies potential
new programs and services, resolves program issues, and assesses
client satisfaction levels and ongoing quality assurance measures.
Facilitates communication and builds a strong relationship between
Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) staff, contractors, and key
stakeholders including schools, state agencies, and other business
and industry partners. Collaborates with and advises Vocational
Rehabilitation leadership on significant issues, program
developments, and operations of program. Maintains an understanding
of the programs, services, and operational functions and
appropriately implements policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Assists with annual and biennial budgets and monitors program
fiscal activities and operating expenses. Provides leadership in
the hiring, supervision, and potential discipline of staff.
Conducts performance management activities including establishing
annual goals related to the strategic plan, holding check-in
meetings to discuss goal progress, and completing performance
appraisals. Facilitates a continuous learning environment by
promoting professional development to ensure all employees have the
opportunity and skills to be efficient and effective in meeting the
goals of the agency. Delegates work and projects appropriately
among staff. Maintains regular & reliable attendance, possesses a
valid driver’s license and travels independently, and works in a
variety of settings. Working Conditions and Travel : This position
requires approximately 70% of work time spent in an office
environment; the remaining 30% is spent traveling or working in
alternative sites such as schools, educational service units,
conferences, etc. There is also approximately three days of
overnight travel per year. Requirements / Qualifications Minimum
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years
of experience related to the essential functions of the position.
Any equivalent education and/or work experience may be substituted
in order to meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field (e.g.,
Vocational Rehabilitation Administration, Counseling, Evaluation,
Public Administration, Management), experience working with people
with significant disabilities, and previous successful leadership
experience in a state Vocational Rehabilitation agency or human
