Job Description:

Consultants will meet face-to-face or via Zoom to assist student writers at any stage of the writing process, and address all writing-related concerns. Consultants will provide in-class supports to writing courses in the form of outreach and/or workshops. Consultants will communicate with students in various formats to answer questions about the Writing Center, to remind students of appointments, and to promote the service. Consultants will assist in the collection of Writing Center usage data and student feedback surveys. Consultants will develop supplemental material and assistance strategies to support writing skills and assist in the development of promotional materials.Required QualificationBachelor's degree in English or related field. Excellent customer service skills required.Preferred QualificationMA in English 9+ graduate hours in English or related field Experience that demonstrates sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disabled backgrounds of community college students. Experience working in a Writing Center/Tutoring Center. Experience working with adult learners. Proficient use of Microsoft Office productsPhysical DemandsInclude occasional lifting of 10 lbs, ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate a computer keyboard and other basic office equipment.
