Construction Technology Instructor

This position will be responsible for delivering courses related
to Construction Technology. Construction Technology includes
aspects of both residential and commercial building. Applicants
must be willing to teach a variety of methodologies: face-to-face,
on-line, hybrid and video conferencing. This position may teach
some evening classes depending upon course schedule. This
instructor will also be responsible for course and lab instruction
and management. All construction labs must meet safety regulations.
Other duties include, but are not limited to, teaching classroom
and laboratory sessions, curriculum development/restructuring,
committee assignments, student academic advising, student
recruitment and responsibility for materials and supplies. All
candidates interviewed will be required to provide a teaching
demonstration. This position is full-time. Required Qualification
Possess a combination of education, training, and at least 6,000
hours of recent, relevant tested experience in the field. Candidate
for this position should have expertise in construction techniques.
Expertise should include framing, carpentry, sustainable
construction, estimating, blueprint reading, and the basic
principles of building techniques in both residential and
commercial. Knowledge of local construction industry and practices.
Must maintain lab safety and cleanliness through instructional
activities. Usage of an online learning management system is
required. Preferred Qualification Teaching experience is preferred.
8 years in the construction industry is preferred. Physical Demands
Requires prolonged standing or sitting. Requires frequent bending,
stooping or stretching. Requires heavy lifting depending on
assignment and lab. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual
dexterity. Requires the safe use of construction equipment. use
hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic
office equipment, ability to work with diverse populations, and
work is performed in a classroom environment. While performing the
duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk,
hear and use a phone, and some travel, by vehicle may be required.
Reading, writing, calculating, and working with minimal
supervision, a high degree of problem-solving, organizational
skills, and high degree of inter-personal skills preferred. Hiring
process includes ability to pass a background check, a valid
