Position Title: Strength & Conditioning Coach
Department: Athletic Departments/Student and Family Services
Reports To: Activities Directors
Compensation: Commensurate with education and experience
Calendar: 261 Days
SUMMARY
Responsible for developing, monitoring, providing instructional
coaching and supporting the strength and conditioning
program. Needs to be knowledgeable on lifting and conditioning
fundamentals and have the ability to work with head
coaches and a variety of students with different abilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties must be performed on site. Other duties or tasks
may be assigned
* Collaborates with staff from the district secondary schools.
* Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.
* Provides and demonstrates best practices in instruction for the
weight room.
* Works strategically with head coaches in developing, planning,
monitoring and assessing student weight training
workouts and the weight training program.
* Conducts goal setting with student-athletes, including
constructive feedback throughout the year.
* Assists the activities director in developing and implementing a
plan for student/athlete accountability.
* Collects data to track and measure progress of
student-athletes.
* Promotes the strength program through a variety of methods
including social media.
* Completes paperwork accurately and in a timely fashion.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
* This position does not supervise other employees.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* Required: Education and/or experience in weight training
* Preferred: Certied Strength and Conditioning Specialist
(CSCS)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
* Required: Valid Iowa coaching endorsement or authorization
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with teachers,
administrators, technicians, students and District
constituents.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram
form.Ability
to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in
standardized situations.

Knowledge and understanding of andragogy and methods in working
with adult learners. Ability to build trusting
relationships. Knowledge of content and pedagogy. Ability to read,
comprehend, and interpret professional and other

best practices in the use of instructional technology.
Ability to compute, think logically, and solve problems. Ability to
effectively use teaching and learning strategies that
include consideration of each student's learning styles, needs, and
background.Demonstrated ability to maintain a

environment in the classroom while achieving order and discipline.

clarity of oral directions, and pace and precision in speaking.
