CLASSIFICATION: Temporary, Full-Time, Ministerial HOURS PER WEEK:
45-65 hours POSITION SUMMARY Looking for a summer job where you

As a Totus Tuus Missionary, you’ll experience all this and so much
more! As a Totus Tuus Missionary, you’ll wake up every day to a new
adventure. And when your head hits the pillow after a faith-filled
day, you’ll go to sleep looking forward to another day of joyfully
serving youth and sharing God’s blessings with them. If you feel
called to help youth in northeast Nebraska learn more about their
Catholic Faith while strengthening your own, Totus Tuus is the job
you’ve been looking for. TOTUS TUUS (Totally Yours) is a
parish-based summer catechetical program, for both grade school age
children and junior/ senior high school youth. Totus Tuus
Missionaries are trained and put onto teams of four, traveling to
parishes across the Archdiocese of Omaha, putting on week-long
“parish missions” to teach and inspire the young. PRINCIPAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES Communicate the Gospel and promote the
Archdiocesan Vision and Priorities to youth. Witness the Christian
life to children and youth through catechesis and personal example.
Committed to a well-defined daily schedule of prayer and
activities, including set-up and clean-up before and after daily
sessions, leading daily prayers for youth, preparing for Liturgies,
catechetical instruction, and organizing daily community building
activities. Actively participate in Missionary Training. Actively
collaborate with Junior Missionaries within parishes. Travel to
parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Omaha to lead week-long
Totus Tuus sessions, staying with host families at each parish
site. Participate in Totus Tuus Missionary gatherings. Actively
promote a safe environment for children and youth, in accordance
with Archdiocese of Omaha Safe Environment policies. KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Work well within a team dynamic. Communicate
well with leaders in parishes and families at host sites. Adequate
knowledge of the Catholic faith and ability to communicate it to
others. A desire to work with youth and children grades 1-12.
Ability to make sacrifices with your time and be flexible with
housing situations, both in Omaha and the rural area, over the six
weeks you will be leading Totus Tuus. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Active, practicing Catholic in full communion with the Catholic
Church, with a demonstrated commitment to the mission and teachings
of the Church. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bilingual skills in Spanish and English preferred. TRAVEL
REQUIREMENTS 100% travel throughout the Archdiocese of Omaha to
lead the Totus Tuus summer catechetical program. ORGANIZATIONAL
RESPONSIBILITY Employees of the of the Archdiocese of Omaha will
have knowledge of the Catholic faith, a willingness to work for a
Catholic, faith-based organization and adhere to the policies of
the Archdiocese of Omaha. Employees will not publicly oppose the
teachings of the Catholic faith nor publicly advocate for any
position in conflict with Catholic teaching, or the specific
positions of the Archdiocese of Omaha or the United States
Conference of Catholic Bishops. This requirement includes any
public speech, demonstration or writing including the use of social
media or other digital technologies.
