Job Description:

The Plant Engineer is a working ammonia refrigeration engineer responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Company's material handling equipment, building, refrigeration system, and PSM program in a manner that minimizes interruptions in warehouse operations and assures employee safety. The Plant Engineer develops programs to extend equipment life, including preventative maintenance (PM) and reliability. Employee safety is a primary concern as is sanitation and housekeeping. Supervision of the maintenance staff is an important duty
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and repairs on all mechanical assets impacting the operation of the facility, physical structure, and exterior grounds.
• Perform inspections of refrigeration system and all necessary maintenance.
• Maintains and follows the PSM requirements and policies.
• Responsible for preventative maintenance tasks on material handling equipment per manufacturer and company guidelines to ensure continual and safe operation.
• Manages the maintenance staff and prioritizes work that align with the Warehouse Manager. -MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)
  • Certification as an Ammonia Operator I or II.
  • Four years of experience working with and operating an Ammonia Refrigeration system.
  • Experience performing and managing building maintenance, material handling equipment maintenance and ammonia refrigeration maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Managing expenses within a budget.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the staff.
  • Possess problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload with demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20 Fahrenheit and be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including evenings and weekends, if needed. -
