Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 07/28/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job ID: 71042857 Position: PCU RN Shift: 12-Hour Nights (18:30–06:30) Contract Length: 13 weeks (91 days) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week Care Setting: Acute Division: Nursing Trauma Level: Level I Charting System: Epic BSN Required: No Unit Details: - Department: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 4th Floor East Wing - Beds: 55 - Patient Population: - Primarily adult patients - Occasional pediatric patients aged 15 - RN Ratios: - Days: 1:4 - Nights: 1:4 - Common Diagnoses: - CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID-19, subdural hematoma, general weakness - Common Meds/Drips: - PCA pumps (pain management), Cardizem, Insulin - Required Competency: Telemetry - EMR System: Epic - IV Pumps: Alaris - Specialty Equipment: Mechanical lifts in every other room Support & Staffing: - Charge Nurse: Present each shift - CNA Support: Yes (Ceil Blue scrubs) - Additional Support Staff: Educator, Care Managers, Social Workers, Dieticians, PT/OT - Scrub Colors: - RNs: Navy Blue - CNAs: Ceil Blue - Scheduling: - Self-scheduling with cyclic schedule - Every other weekend required Floating & Orientation: - Float Requirement: May float to Med-Surg based on facility needs - Orientation: Includes Friday Pass/Fail exam (open book on orientation content) - Must score 90% or higher to continue contract Required Certifications: - BLS (Basic Life Support) - ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - NIHSS (Stroke Scale) Candidate Attributes: - Able to “manage the business of the day” - Team player with strong communication - Fits well in a tight-knit, collaborative unit - Strong focus on hourly rounding and responsiveness Compliance & Radius Rules: - Radius Rule: - Must live outside 50 miles - Not eligible if currently employed (FT, PT, PRN) at CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health - Driver’s License: Required at submission for radius verification - RTO Policy: - Max 7 days per 13-week contract (must be submitted up front) - No additional RTO approved after submission - Cancellation Policy: - Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment - 3 cancellations allowed for shorter contracts About Nationwide Therapy Group NTG is a proud partner with healthcare professionals across the country.
