Job Description:

This position is a full-time opportunity requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week, with a flexible schedule of 4 or 5 days incorporating weekday shifts as well as on-call responsibilities during weekends and holidays. Located on-site in Columbus, NE, the successful candidate will be responsible for entering orders into the Paragon software system and maintaining the inventory for the pharmacy department. Key responsibilities include the preparation of both non-sterile and sterile compounds, which includes handling chemotherapy agents as required. The role also encompasses involvement in the Hospice program, filling prescriptions accordingly. A major part of this position is performing various clinical duties such as conducting chart reviews, performing medication reconciliations, providing patient education, and ensuring proper pharmacokinetic and renal dosing checks. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing pharmacy technician staff when necessary and will play a vital role in precepting pharmacy students on their clinical rotations. Additionally, the candidate must be proficient in counseling patients on their medications upon discharge. While hospital pharmacy experience is a plus, it is not a strict requirement.
