Job Title: Progressive Care Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown/PCU Duration: Permanent Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 PM - 7 AM) Experience: No experience necessary License: Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) License or valid compact multistate license, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure required. Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within one year of employment. Must-Have: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. NIH Stroke Scale training required at hire or within 6 months of hire. Successful completion of Telemetry Cardiac Rhythm Course. Successful completion of annual mandatory education requirements. Description: Responsible for the delivery of quality care to patients and families according to the individualized needs of the patient. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and interact with patients, family members, hospital personnel, and co-workers. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments. Ability to learn, retain, and utilize computer skills required for department and hospital information system. Preferred: core certification related to area of specialty from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) within one year of eligibility.
