Facility Information Facility: GSS ND Mandan Sunset Location: Mandan, ND Address: 1011 Boundary Street Northwest, Mandan, ND 58554, USA Shift: 8 Hours - Night Shifts Job Schedule: Full-time Weekly Hours: 40.00 Salary Range: $19.00 - $25.50 Pay Info: $5000 Sign-On Bonus Job Summary The Nursing Assistant (NA) acts as a caregiver for residents during their scheduled shifts in a long-term care setting. This role involves delivering resident-centered nursing care and assisting with daily living activities under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN). The NA is responsible for providing age-appropriate care that addresses both the physical and psychological needs of residents as outlined in their care plans. As a vital member of the nursing team, the NA is expected to adhere to infection prevention protocols and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately. Responsibilities include: Assisting with basic health care needs, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and undressing. Obtaining and recording vital signs. Providing psychosocial support and personal care. Helping residents with transfers, repositioning, and ambulation using proper techniques and equipment. Facilitating range of motion and passive exercises. Contributing to food preparation and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Assisting residents with meals and snacks, and providing water and nutritional supplements as needed. The NA also supports nursing staff with procedures as required, documents resident interactions and care outcomes, and communicates any changes in residents' conditions to the charge nurse. Additional tasks include: Collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens and vital signs. Providing housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas. Assisting with wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation. Participating in departmental committees and task forces as necessary. Qualifications High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) is preferred but not mandatory. Minimum age requirement of 16 years. Previous clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is preferred. Must possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing, or be state-certified within four months of starting the position by enrolling in a training program or obtaining certification through Endorsement. CNA training and certification will be provided by the facility. Must successfully complete annual department-specific competency testing and maintain a record of continuing education credits, with a minimum of 12 hours required each year. Must maintain all required department-specific certifications. For applicable states, must be certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry. Depending on facility requirements, this position may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver, necessitating a motor vehicle report and proof of a valid driver’s license. Must also meet medical qualifications for driving as per the organization’s driving policy.
