Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Self-scheduled rotating
12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM; rotating schedule with every
third weekend requirement (Friday & Saturday are considered weekend
for night scheduling) Hours per Week: 36 Candidate Pay Rate: $62

Responsibilities Provide compassionate, high-quality bedside
nursing care for Med-Surg and Orthopedics patients Perform thorough
patient assessments and interpret telemetry/monitoring to guide
care Administer medications and safely manage IV therapy and
infusions, including common drips Deliver focused post-operative
orthopedic care for total joints and fracture patients Conduct
hourly rounding and lead bedside shift report to ensure safe
transitions Collaborate with charge nurses, nurse aides, and
monitor techs to maintain ideal ratios and flow Float to PCU and
behavioral health (McDermott) as needed, adapting care to diverse
patient needs Document care accurately in EPIC and communicate
clearly with interdisciplinary teams Qualifications Active RN
license (eligible to practice in IA or hold a valid compact
license) BLS certification required at time of submission Minimum 1
year of recent RN experience (Med-Surg/Ortho experience highly
preferred) Comfortable with EPIC electronic charting Driver's
license required at submittal (used to confirm radius rule
eligibility) Willingness to take and pass an open-book orientation
skills exam (90% required) Able to comply with facility policies
(no artificial nails in patient-care areas) Not currently (or
within the past year) employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at
CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facilities Education Active RN license
(associate degree, diploma, or BSN acceptable) BLS certification
required BSN not required for submission Knowledge & Skills Patient
assessment and clinical decision-making on med-surg/ortho
populations Medication administration and safe narcotics handling
IV therapy and infusion management (including heparin and set-rate
drips) Telemetry interpretation and familiarity with monitor
systems Wound care and post-op orthopedic dressing/assessment
skills Effective bedside shift reporting and hourly rounding
practices Ability to float to PCU and behavioral health and adjust
communication style Strong teamwork, flexibility, and ability to
