Registered Nurse - Med Surg – UHC Staffing Registered Nurse - Med
Surg Location: Lincoln, NE Start Date: 02-16-2026 End Date:
05-18-2026 Contract Type: Contract Shift Type: Primarily Nights,
12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule varies with weekend and
holiday coverage as needed (position listed as Nights; occasional
float to PCU or Burn required) Hours per Week: 36 Candidate Pay

Roles & Responsibilities Provide compassionate, high-quality
med-surg patient care focusing on medical, surgical and orthopedics
populations Administer medications and perform IV therapy,
following protocols and safety checks Monitor telemetry and patient
status, alerting the team promptly to clinical changes Document
assessments, interventions and care plans accurately and timely in
EPIC Collaborate with respiratory therapists, charge nurses and
nurse aides to coordinate safe care Support unit flow by accepting
assignments at typical ratios (1:5-6) and stepping in when the team
needs you Float to PCU or Burn units as required, adapting skills
to different acute care needs Adhere to facility policies
(including fingernail/artificial nail rules) and complete required
orientation and competency checks Qualifications Active RN license
in Nebraska (must be eligible to submit) Minimum 1 year of clinical
nursing experience (med-surg or related acute care preferred) BLS
certification required Valid driver’s license required at submittal
(radius rule applies) Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, IV
therapy and med-surg care Able to complete orientation requirements
and pass the open-book orientation exam with the required score
(90%) Education Active RN license (ADN or BSN acceptable) — BSN not
listed as required Knowledge & Skills Strong patient assessment and
documentation skills Medication administration and IV/infusion
experience (heparin titration only when applicable) Telemetry
monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition Experience with EPIC
charting system Ability to work within med-surg ratios and
coordinate with charge nurse Teamwork with nurse aides/PCTs and
respiratory therapists Familiarity with inpatient acute care
