Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs Description:
The position is for a Registered Nurse in a 20-bed critical care
unit. The unit provides expert care for critically ill patients
with various medical illnesses. Patients may present with
respiratory failure, acute and chronic kidney failure, liver
failure, overdoses, and septic shock. Staffing ratios are 1:2-3
during days and 1:2-3 during nights. RNs must prepare to float
frequently to meet the staffing needs. Weekend shifts include 4
weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period. RNs will
typically work Saturday and Sunday day shifts or Friday and
Saturday night shifts. Minimum 4 years of experience is required,
with 2 years in a large, urban hospital preferred. Travelers are
expected to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. The facility is 100%
nicotine-free. The unit provides interdisciplinary support
including IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services. All
applicants must have medical and transplant ICU experience. RNs
must wear designated scrubs as per facility policy. Emergency
medications, critical care procedures, and patient monitoring are
core responsibilities. Floating to other units may be required
depending on unit needs. Documentation and compliance standards
