a busy Progressive Care Unit (PCU) offering care to adult patients
with mixed medical, surgical, cardiac, and stroke diagnoses. This
contract position, located in La Vista, NE, requires an experienced
RN-Stepdown nurse ready to deliver high-quality nursing within a
focused and fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide
comprehensive nursing care for PCU patients, including titration of
drips such as heparin, octreotide, and insulin Manage frequent
admissions, transfers, and discharges efficiently Collaborate with
interdisciplinary teams, including nurse aids, Tele/Monitor Techs,
and charge nurses who also maintain patient assignments Follow
facility protocols for patient safety and care standards utilizing
specialty equipment like Code Carts, LUCAS machines, and hoyer
lifts Adhere to dress code by wearing navy blue scrubs Participate
in a thorough orientation including a classroom week and two
12-hour shifts Float as needed to Med/Surg, ICU, or ED depending on
skills and patient needs Pass a Friday orientation exam with a
minimum score of 90% to continue employment Qualifications and
Experience: Active RN license with Stepdown nursing skills Required
certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Ability to read and interpret
cardiac telemetry monitoring Valid drivers license and residence
within a 50-mile radius (distance verified at submission)
Compliance with facilitys nail policy (no artificial nails)
Availability to work 0630-1900 or 1830-0700 shifts on a 6-week
rotating schedule, including every other weekend and holiday
