Job Summary: The Pasta Cook will perform a variety of tasks including cooking rice or pasta using prepared formulas, assembling machine parts, reviewing requisitions and batch sheets, performing sheer tests and yield tests on pasta ensuring target specifications required numbers are met, inspection of work environment including equipment adjustments, ensuring good housekeeping and 5S standards are met. Starting pay up to $20.43 per hour + Attendance Bonus! ($0.50 for first shift and $0.60 for second shift) This role will be onsite at the facility located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. As a pasta cook, you will report to the operations team. You Will: Work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for positionRead, write, communicate, and comprehend written instructions in EnglishWork individually or with others as a team at all levelsIntermediate math skillsBasic knowledge of computers including emailPush or pull up to 50 lbs. repetitivelyBe HACCP Certified, PIT Certified, and LOTO CertifiedWork in a hot humid environmentJob Duties: Communicate with production leads on pasta/rice quality, amount needed, and timingCheck equipment before use to ensure setup is completeAssemble cleaned machine parts and set controls to proper pasta mix settingsReview requisition and batch sheets to ensure all items and quantities received are correctPerform daily scale auditsVerify temperatures, ratios, and set points match the batch sheetPerform pasta sheer tests and yield tests ensuring they meet target specifications and required numbersComplete daily centerline matrixClean machine parts, tools, utensils and work areaEnsure good housekeeping and 5S standards are metComplete all required paperwork, including SSOP and SOPPerform sanitary checks on equipment to be usedMay perform general labor tasks as assignedYou Have: Knowledge of GMP's and food allergensTo identify Critical Control Points (CCP)Read a thermometerKnowledge of the 5S conceptMechanical aptitudeAbility to work with pork, chicken, beef and shellfish products in addition to many other ingredients and allergensEducation: High school diploma or GED.
