Basic Function and Responsibility: Under supervision of Grants and Contracts Accountant; accounting activities relating to Iowa Western's grants and contracts.Typical Physical Demands: Requires prolonged standing or sitting. Requires frequent bending, stooping or stretching. May require average-weight objects. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Requires ability to distinguish letters or symbols. Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, telephone, faxes, and copiers.Typical Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed in an interior/ office environment. Frequent contact with both internal and external customers.Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

• Grants and contracts: Monthly reconciliation, draw downs or invoicing Communicate with grant administrators Annual reporting KIWR Invoicing and Commission Tracking Monthly A/R Journals Annual Reconciliations of SEOG /Work Study accounts
• Record transactions, process draw down, and reconcile Federal Aid account
• Responsible for performance of other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.Required QualificationEducation: High school diploma or GED .Experience: One (1) year accounting or business office experience.Preferred QualificationEducation: Associates Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.Experience: Two (2) years accounting or business office experience. MS Office, specifically excel. Integrated computer accounting system in a college or university environment.Physical DemandsRequires prolonged standing or sitting.
