General Overview: The Outreach Team is partnering with Let it
Resound to mobilize Black voters ahead of the 2024 Election. Black
voters have proven they turn out to vote but they're often
forgotten when it comes to voter engagement and education. This
year, Let it Resound is launching a campaign to provide authentic
spaces to promote Black voter education and community connections
so Black voters increase voter turnout ahead of the 2024 Election.
We are looking for organizers who are local to their community to
interact with Black voters through civic engagement, accessible
voter education, and voter registration. - - -Location and
Timeline: - We are hiring organizers for this position beginning
Spring 2024 and continuing through the November Election.
Organizers will be based near the following areas: -
- Flint, MI
- Akron, OH
- Raleigh, NC
- Las Vegas, NV -
- Virginia Beach, VA
- Omaha, NE -
- Hempstead, NY Responsibilities: Recruiting Activists and
Working with Coalition Partners
- Call thousands of local members to set up meetings and develop
leaders
- Plan meet-ups and happy hours for activists
- Work with key organizational allies on the ground to plan
events
- Recruit several members to meet with key coalition
partners
- Work with volunteers to plan the logistics, make signage, and
craft a run of show for each community event
- Debrief all volunteers and set up 1:1 meetings with event
attendees to deepen investment
- Call and text supporters and recruit them into grassroots
actions -
- Run grassroots skills trainings to develop effective
campaigners among volunteers
- Keep meticulous track of an accountability volunteer list so
that no potential volunteer falls through the cracks Organize
Community Events -
- Organize and execute in-person events for voter education,
voter registration, and civic engagement -
- Lean on bridge building relationships with community members to
garner support and turn out - Data Management and Reporting
- Track every interaction with every community member -
- Report vote plan and voter registration number and write
detailed reports weekly on the results of the campaign
- Ensure that member data is kept secure and that data entry is
done with all due care and attention
- Submit a nightly numbers report detailing progress to goal on
key metrics
- Keep a pristine database of volunteers, updated daily
- Submit a weekly narrative report including photos of community
events
- Send timely and compelling communications to recruit activists
to accountability campaign activities
- Track every interaction with detailed notes in order to report
numbers daily and write weekly reports on the results of the
campaign
- Demonstrate public support by recruiting volunteers to post on
their own social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and
Twitter.
- Use peer-to-peer texting services and relational organizing
tools to communicate with community members
- Send timely and compelling email campaigns to recruit activists
to campaign activities Qualifications:
- Experience in field and volunteer organizing either on advocacy
or electoral campaigns strongly recommended
- Demonstrated experience putting on big events
- Self-starter and excellent problem-solving skills
- Personally organized
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends
- Experience with data and volunteer management tools like VAN,
Actionbuilder, and Thru Text is preferred What we're looking for in

willingness to learn new things and pick up new skills on the job.
Able to learn from mistakes and try again. -
- Understanding of how your words and actions affect others,
including an awareness of power language and communication
accessibility. -
- Ability to work weekends and weekday evenings, occasional
holidays. - -Some expectations for the job:
- Expect some evening and weekend work
- Flexible daily schedule aside from 2-3 hours of calls during
peak hours of operation -Salary, Benefits and Perks: The salary for
this position is $50,000-$60,000. Salary within this range is
determined through an equity calculator. As part of The Outreach
Team's commitment to compensation equity and transparency, we have
a no-negotiation policy. Salary negotiations can introduce bias and
perpetuate wage inequality. At the end of the campaign, there may
be opportunities for advancement. We offer a generous benefits
