Architect/Architectural Designer Job Description -HGM Associates -has an immediate opening for a full time Architect/Architectural DesignerHGM Associates provides a full array of Commercial Architectural, Engineering, Surveying and Landscape Architecture Services to the Midlands since 1960. The Architecture Department provides a diverse commercial workload in facility types such as Higher Education, Fire Stations, Police Stations, Banks, and City Operated Office and Maintenance Buildings. -Duties:Lead architectural design through all phases of project.Work with clients to determine scope and client programing needs.Develop preliminary and design development scaled drawings for a project design.Create renderings as needed to communicate concepts to the ClientPrepare design details and building specificationsPrepare contract documents suitable for submission to approving governmental agencies and bidding contractors.Prepare cost estimates for project.Research products and details needed for each project.Work directly with the client and ensure all concepts/drawings are clearly communicated.Review building and fire code for projects and work with all city building/planning code officials to ensure design meets code.Coordinate the architectural drawings with all project engineering disciplines and their associated drawings.Work directly with support staff in preparing construction documents and specifications.Conduct periodic on-site visits during construction to monitor compliance with plans.Answer RFI's and review submittals and shop drawings throughout the pre-construction and construction phases of the project.Skills/Qualifications: * -Candidate must have * -5+ -years' job experience in duties listed. Licensed preferred but not required.Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup and Adobe programs.Strong communication skillsHighly organized and detailed orientated.Self-starter""work under minimum supervisionAbility to multi-task and establish priorities.Excellent verbal and written communications skills.Must be a U.S. Citizen or -be authorized to work in the U.S. A.
