Our Pet Segment is searching for a QC Technician in our Council Bluffs, IA location. This position is responsible for quality through inspection of components, contract finished goods, and Quality Management support functions. Responsible for assuring packaging component quality. Supports third party manufactured product activities. Provides Quality Management support and expertise. Samples incoming raw materials. Please see our website at www.central.com for additional company information.Measures of Success* Coordinates sampling and inspection of packaging components using most current specifications.* Implements and updates sampling and inspection procedures for new and current components/products.* Inspects, approves, and rejects components/finished goods based on inspection results.* Reviews control records for packaging / manufacturing compliance.* Efficient and effective inspection of third-party products.* Issues Non-Conformance Reports when required.* Assist with determining and implementing corrective and preventive actions for Non-conformances.* Communicate with production personnel and provide necessary feedback regarding quality related issues.* Communicate with production planning regarding product release while assuring accurate and timely release of product.* Communicate with Quality Assurance and Document Control to maintain accurate and up-to-date production/manufacturing records.* Maintains vendor certification documentation. (CoA's)* Prepares quality management receiving inspection reports.* Samples raw materials for analytical testing. Must use required PPE when sampling chemicals.* Responsible for maintaining, storing, retrieval and disposal of retention samples including chemical raw materials, in house, and third party finished goods.* Perform analytical testing of finished goods and raw materials.Ideal Candidate Attributes* High School Graduate (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific or related field strongly preferred). * One year of experience in quality or manufacturing environment. * Ability to learn basic statistical analysis.* Basic skills in Microsoft Word.
