Job Summary: The Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for a variety of responsibilities including troubleshooting and repairing heating, ventilation, air, and refrigeration equipment involving ammonia or other refrigerants following safety standards, performing daily checks on refrigeration systems/equipment, cleaning and changing filters while observing all safety regulations and ensuring GMP and quality standards are met.Starting pay up to $29.84 per hour and Attendance Bonus! ($0.50 for first shift and $0.60 for second shift) You will be onsite at the facility located in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Essential Job Functions:Work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for positionRegular attendance to ensure production requirements are metRead blueprints, drawings, plansKnowledge of Planned MaintenanceIntermediate math skillsComplete work/purchase requestsYou Will:Troubleshoot and repair heating, ventilation, air, and refrigeration equipment involving ammonia or other refrigerants following safety standardsPerform daily checks on all refrigeration systems/equipmentLead the refrigeration team to accomplish tasks or resolve issuesReplace and repair boilers, ammonia system, coolers, compressors, and HVAC systemsPerform scheduled maintenance on evaporators and condensersChange and clean filters promptlyMonitor, clean, and repair plant systems (e.g., condensers, traps, and filtrations)Requisition parts and suppliesInspect and clean work areas using proper tools according to procedureComplete required paperwork promptlyRepair/replace; modify machinery, wiring, pipingMaintain and complete all required documentation following OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements (e.g., logs, records, and checklist)You Have: Knowledge of Plant safety, GMP'sKnowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)Ability to be LOTO/PIT/confined space certifiedAbility to be respirator trainedAbility to be HAZMAT trained and a member of the HAZMAT teamQualifications:Education: High school diploma or GED required. Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of refrigeration maintenance or related experience required.
Commercial HVAC experience required.
Industrial experience preferred.
